We celebrated the 75th anniversary of the blessing of our church (Sunday, April 14, 2024). We welcomed Bishop Wayne Lobsinger, the auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Hamilton, who celebrated the anniversary of this joyful and historic event. After Mass, the bishop met with some of our members.
We were joined as well by Gábor Markocsány, Consul at the Hungarian Consulate in Toronto.
The program featured actor Csaba Marosán (member of the Hungarian Theater of Kolozsvar) who gave an amazing performance, including the origins of expressions, the hidden meaning of folk songs, and several songs from modern performances.
The well-known local flutist Mate Szigeti performed three pieces with hungarian themes.
We enjoyed an amazing hungarian dance.
